Eye Flashers - Floaters

Flashers

Flashers are very frequently accompanied by floaters.

What is a Flasher?

Flashers are the illusion of a fluorescent object in the vision. They may look like fireworks, circles, pentagons, "D"s, etc.

Dangers

Flashers are usually harmless. However, this varies enormously and every person who sees - or has ever seen - a flasher should be checked by a doctor immediately. Having flashers is a common sign of retinal detachment which is a serious eye condition that can cause blindness if not treated correctly.

The origins of flashers is what matters most to determine whether they are harmful or not. If you experience floaters for many minutes without "triggering them at all", then it's more likely that you have a problem in your eye(s). In the other hand, many people experience flashers of light after doing exercise. This means that their vitreous is pulling on their retina.. Nevertheless, everyone with flashers of light should contact a doctor immediatly to have his/her eyes checked.

Cure

The cure for flashers is very similar to the Eye Floater Cure.

Additional Information

-If you suddenly experience an increase in floaters/flashers, then you must IMMEDIATELY contact a doctor.

-Some people see flashers after being hit strongly in the head/eyes. This is indeed harmful, but usually has no long-term consequences.

-Only undergo surgery when vital for your health. I myself do not recommend any form of surgery because of the dangers involved. However, when your eye's health is at stake, you should consult many different doctors and see if it is best for you.

-Have patience. For most of us flashers are not going away so just learn to live with them if you see them from time to time. If the frequency in which they appear increases, then consult a doctor.
